Calling leads through RootLogic — instead of your personal phone — keeps the call recorded, logged to the contact record, and routed through your practice number.
1
Open the contact record for the lead you want to call
Go to Contacts in the left sidebar, search for the person's name or phone number, and click their name to open the contact record.
2
Click the phone icon next to their number
At the top of the contact record, next to the phone number field, you'll see a small phone handset icon. Click it to initiate the call. RootLogic will dial out using your practice's configured phone number.
3
Alternatively, use the dial pad in the Conversations tab
Click Conversations in the left sidebar, then look for the dial pad icon in the top right corner of the conversations panel. You can type in any number to call directly from here without needing to open the contact record first.
4
Wait for the call to connect — your browser handles the audio
RootLogic uses your computer's microphone and speakers (or headset) for the call. Make sure your browser has microphone permissions granted for RootLogic. The call window will appear on screen with mute, hold, and hang-up controls.
5
Write a note immediately after you hang up
The moment the call ends, click the Notes tab on the contact record and jot down what was discussed, what the lead said, and what the next step is. Fresh notes take 60 seconds and save hours of context-rebuilding later.
Important: All calls made through RootLogic are recorded. The recording is automatically saved to the contact's Activity tab. Leads in your area may be in a two-party consent state — check with your practice manager if you're unsure about disclosure requirements.
Pro tip: Call leads through RootLogic — not your cell phone. Calls from personal numbers don't get logged, don't get recorded, and the lead might call your personal number back. Keep everything in the system.
