RootLogic Lead Pipeline
Lead Pipeline

What is an "opportunity" in RootLogic?

Understanding what an opportunity is — and how it's different from a contact — helps you keep the pipeline accurate and your reporting clean.

1
Think of an opportunity as a pipeline card
An opportunity is the card you see moving through the pipeline columns — Lead Received, Hot Lead, Consult Booked, Procedure Booked. Each card represents one specific chance to convert a prospect into a patient. It has a name, a value, a stage, and a linked contact.
2
Find the pipeline under "Opportunities" in the left sidebar
In RootLogic, click "Opportunities" in the left navigation menu. You'll see the Kanban board with all your active pipeline cards. Each card shows the contact's name, the dollar value of that stage, and how long it's been sitting there.
3
One person can have multiple opportunities
If a lead inquires, doesn't book, then comes back six months later, they'll have a second opportunity created. Each opportunity tracks a separate conversion attempt. The contact record (the person's info) stays the same — only the pipeline card is new.
4
Opportunities can be deleted; the contact is not affected
If a lead is spam or completely unqualified, you can delete the opportunity card from the pipeline. The contact record — the person's name, phone, email, and conversation history — stays in the system. You're only removing the pipeline card, not erasing the person.
Pro tip: When someone calls and says they already inquired before, search for them in the Contacts tab first. If they have an old opportunity, you'll see it attached to their record so you have full context before you even say hello.
