Can I assign a task to another staff member?

Yes — when you create or edit a task, you can assign it to any user in your RootLogic location so the right person sees it in their task list.

1
Open the task creation form from the contact's Tasks tab
Open the contact record, click the Tasks tab, and click + Add Task to open the task form.
2
Find the "Assigned To" field and select the staff member
In the task creation form, locate the Assigned To field. Click the dropdown and you'll see a list of all active users in your location. Select the name of the colleague you want to own this follow-up.
3
Write a clear task title so the assignee knows exactly what to do
Don't just write "Follow up." Write what the person needs to do and why: "Call Maria — said she'd have spouse's answer by Thursday. She's leaning yes, just needs pricing confirmed." The person you assign it to will only have your task title and any notes to go on.
4
Save the task — it now appears on the assignee's task list
Click Save. The task will immediately appear in the assigned staff member's Tasks view the next time they log in or refresh. RootLogic may also send them an in-app notification depending on their notification settings.
Important: Once you assign a task to someone else, it drops off your own task list. Make sure you've communicated the handoff in person if it's urgent — don't rely solely on the task notification for time-sensitive follow-ups.
