Blocking prevents a specific phone number from calling into your RootLogic line — use it when you've confirmed the number is a bot, a solicitor, or repeat nuisance caller.
1
Open the contact record for the number
Go to Contacts in the left sidebar and search for the phone number or name. Click the contact to open their record. If they don't have a contact record yet (for example, a raw missed call), find the number in the Conversations tab first.
2
Click the three-dot menu on the contact record
In the top-right corner of the contact record, click the three dots (···) icon to open the action menu. You'll see options including Edit, Delete, and Block Number.
3
Select "Block Number"
Click Block Number from the dropdown. RootLogic will confirm the action. Once blocked, any future inbound calls from that number will be rejected before they reach your team.
4
Delete or disqualify the opportunity if one exists
If this spam number created a pipeline card, go to the Opportunities pipeline, find the card, and delete it. This keeps your pipeline clean and prevents the 45-day nurture sequence from sending messages to a spam number.
Important: Blocking only stops inbound calls. It does not stop outbound automated texts or emails. If you also want to stop all outbound communication, enable DND on the contact record before deleting it.
Pro tip: If you're unsure whether a number is spam or a real lead who got disconnected, check the Conversations tab for message history before blocking. A real patient inquiry usually has a form fill or a coherent text exchange attached.
