Completing tasks keeps your task list accurate and signals to the whole team that the follow-up happened — a clean task list is how you know nothing is being dropped.
1
Go to Tasks in the left sidebar
Click Tasks in the left navigation to open your task list. Find the task you just completed — it should appear near the top if it was due today or overdue.
2
Click the circle or checkbox next to the task
To the left of each task title, there is a circle or checkbox. Click it to mark the task as complete. The task will be checked off and moved out of your active list.
3
Alternatively, mark complete from inside the contact record
If you're already in a contact's record, click the Tasks tab. Find the task in the list there and click the same circle/checkbox to complete it — without having to navigate back to the main Tasks view.
Pro tip: Mark a task complete the moment you finish the follow-up — not at the end of the day. If you get pulled away after a call and don't complete it, the task stays in your active list and creates false urgency the next time you check.
Important: Completing a task does not move the pipeline card. If the follow-up resulted in a booked consult, you still need to book the appointment through the calendar so the automation fires and the opportunity value updates correctly.
