How do I set a contact to DND?

Enabling Do Not Disturb on a contact takes about 10 seconds — here's exactly where to find the toggle and what to check before you flip it.

1
Open the contact record
Click Contacts in the left sidebar, search for the person by name or phone number, and click their name to open their contact record.
2
Find the DND toggle in the contact details panel
In the right-side details panel of the contact record, scroll until you see the Do Not Disturb toggle or switch. It's typically located in the contact info section near the phone and email fields. The toggle will be off (gray) by default.
3
Click the toggle to enable DND
Click the DND toggle to turn it on (it will switch to an active/colored state). RootLogic will immediately stop all outbound automated and manual texts and emails to this contact. The change takes effect right away — no save button required.
4
Add a note explaining why DND was set
Go to the Notes section and write a quick entry — for example: "Set DND 6/23 — contact called in and asked to stop all texts and emails. OK to call." This tells every future team member why this contact went quiet and what options remain.
Important: DND stops ALL outbound texts and emails — including appointment reminders and confirmation messages. If the contact has a booked consult, verify they've already received their confirmation before enabling DND.
