Can I see if a patient opened my email?

Yes — RootLogic tracks open and click activity on emails sent through the platform, so you know which leads are actively reading your messages and which ones to follow up with more urgently.

1
Open the contact's record
Click "Contacts" in the left sidebar, search for the person by name or email, and click their name to open the full contact record.
2
Scroll to the Activity tab or timeline
On the contact record, click the "Activity" tab (sometimes shown as a timeline feed on the right side of the record). This log shows every interaction — sent emails, opens, clicks, calls, texts, and notes — in chronological order.
3
Look for the "Opened" event under the email entry
Find the email you sent in the timeline. If the contact opened it, you'll see an "Email Opened" event with a timestamp below the original "Email Sent" entry. If they clicked a link inside the email, you'll also see an "Email Clicked" event.
4
Use open activity as a follow-up trigger
If you can see a contact opened an email but hasn't responded or booked, that's a warm signal — call them within the hour. A person who just read your email is far more likely to answer than a cold outbound call.
Important: Open tracking relies on a small invisible pixel in the email. Some email clients (especially Apple Mail with Mail Privacy Protection) block this pixel, which means the email was likely opened but RootLogic may show it as unread. Don't assume a no-open means the message wasn't received.
