How do I create a new customer/contact manually?

When someone calls or walks in and isn't already in the system, adding them as a contact right away ensures you have their info on file and can follow up — here's how to do it in under a minute.

1
Go to the Contacts section and click the "+ New Contact" button
Click "Contacts" in the left sidebar, then look for the green or blue "+ New Contact" button in the top right corner of the contacts list. Click it to open the new contact form.
2
Fill in their first name, last name, and phone number at minimum
The required fields are first name and phone number. Last name and email are strongly recommended — without an email you can't send automated sequences, and without a full name it's hard to look them up later. Add as much as you have: address, source, and any notes from the conversation.
3
Check for duplicates before saving
Before hitting Save, consider whether this person might already be in the system from a previous inquiry. If you're not sure, open a new browser tab, search Contacts for their phone number, and confirm there's no existing record. Creating duplicates causes confusion and can fire automation twice.
4
Click "Save" and then create an opportunity if they're an active lead
Once saved, you'll land on the new contact's record. If this person is actively interested in a consultation, click "Add Opportunity" on their record to create a pipeline card at the Lead Received stage. This puts them in the pipeline and starts the automated nurture sequence.
Pro tip: If someone calls in and you're on the phone with them, add them as a contact while you're still talking — don't wait until after the call. You're more likely to get accurate information and won't risk forgetting to add them.
